Meet the Engineering 350 Team
Ray Keane, P.E., Founding Principal
Ray is a licensed professional engineer and LEED® accredited professional who has over 20 years of design and construction experience. Ray has worked in both the design and construction industries, this unique experience allows him to design high-performance building systems that are practical and economical. Ray’s vision is global; he has practiced in both Europe and in the US, and he has worked on projects in five continents. Ray is committed to delivering regenerative and living buildings in this decade and is currently providing leadership in a number of planned developments that are set to achieve living building status.
Ray was educated in Ireland and received his engineering degree from Trinity College Dublin. He completed postgraduate studies at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris France. Ray lived and worked in France for seven years before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. Noted projects include La Grande Arche de la Défense, Paris; Musee du Louvre,Paris; de Young Museum San Francisco and the LEED® Platinum ARD building at NAU, Flagstaff Arizona.
Heather Keane, Partner, Marketing
Heather is originally from Chicago, but has lived in five states and is happily settled in Northern California with her family. She began her career in Marketing after graduating with a degree in Interpersonal Communications from Northern Illinois University.
Heather’s sense of design and aesthetics is inspired by her passion for Photography. She has been capturing breathtaking landscapes, architectural design of buildings as well as her awe-inspiring flowers for many years. Launching her first business at an early age gave her the drive to succeed. Heather is the CFO (Chief Fun Officer) of Engineering 350. She is constantly looking at the bright side and finding the win win in everything.
Kim Zylker, P.E., Associate Principal
Kim is a licensed professional engineer and LEED® accredited professional who has widespread design and project management experience as a mechanical engineer. Kim received her engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to forming Engineering 350 Kim worked as a project manager and project mechanical engineer on a variety of sustainable projects including San Francisco Friends School in the historic Levi Strauss Building, California State University, East Bay’s new Recreation and Wellness Center, Stanford University’s Institute for Economic Policy and Research, and the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Renovation.
Kim looks at every project as an opportunity to collaborate with the architectural team and to create design solutions that are not only fully integrated but deliver on the promise of increased building performance. Kim also believes that good project management is critical to a project's success, and to this goal she strives for excellent communication between her team and the client.
David Lynch, Associate, Mechanical Engineer
David moved from Dublin, Ireland to San Francisco in 2013. He studied at Dublin Institute of Technology and received a BEng in Building Services Engineering. This degree incorporated in a wide range of disciplines in the mechanical and plumbing fields while also focusing on energy modeling.
David’s main role as an energy model specialist is to generate and analyze thermal energy models of buildings. With this information, the most appropriate energy efficient MEP systems can be selected for the project. As well as this, David carries out mechanical and plumbing design consultation and Title 24 analysis.
David’s main focus of his projects is to minimize energy consumption of buildings. Buildings account for nearly 40% of carbon emissions into the atmosphere at the moment.
Maria Nazar, Electrical Engineer
Originally from Venezuela, Maria is specialized in designing electrical systems for residential and commercial projects.
Maria has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de Carabobo with a concentration in Power Systems. Each day she encounters new challenges and loves the complexity that each project requires, putting the customers’ needs first and always giving them her best.
Maria is a Green Building design passionate that loves how California leads the way for the rest of the world.
Phillip Bui, Electrical Engineer
Born in Vietnam, Phillip and his family looked forward to the opportunities that were available in the United States.
Phillip originally declared as a nursing major, decided he would much rather work with computers than fight illnesses. Graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
Philip always wanted to be a part of progress and at Engineering 350 he feels like he is; one project at a time. Philip feels very fortunate to be working in such a friendly environment as well as being an integral part of an excellent team.
Marco Vismara, Building Energy Analyst
Marco is from Italy and graduated with a MSc in Building Engineering and Architecture at the Polytechnic school of Milan.
Marco started getting interested in energy efficiency during my studies, and developed a professional and personal passion for sustainability in all its forms. Spreading from buildings to waste reduction, from food production and supply to transportation, Marco applies sustainability principles to his everyday life.
Having worked as an architect, consultant and engineer on all kind and sizes of projects, throughout the years he developed a multidisciplinary approach to my work, resulting in a holistic vision of building systems. This concept of a building as a whole is essential in evaluating its energy efficiency and sustainability.
As buildings constitutes the major source of carbon emissions in the atmosphere, he gets much satisfaction in the thought that he is giving his (small) contribution in making a positive difference in communities, tackling climate change through his work in the building environment.
Clare Dunne, Mechanical Engineer
Clare is from Dublin Ireland and arrived in California in 2017.
Clare holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Energy) from the National University of Ireland, Cork.
Clare draws on experience from across the energy sector, including the fields of biogas production, wind farm development and maintenance, electrical transmission system operation, and environmental management standards (ISO14000). She is passionate about sustainability in the modern world, and developing creative solutions to challenges. She loves the opportunity that her career gives her to travel, and has previously worked in New Zealand and Germany. Clare has enjoyed California and all it has to offer both in her work life and her personal life.
Beau Bruneman, P.E., Senior Mechanical Engineer
Beau is a licensed professional engineer who has over five years of design and construction experience. Prior to joining Engineering 350, Beau worked on a variety of projects including multiple large commercial tenant improvement projects in downtown San Francisco among other projects. He was instrumental in the design of the HVAC systems along with coordination between all disciplines to work towards the goal of a successful, cohesive project delivery.
Beau grew up in San Francisco and received his engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before returning back to the Bay Area after college. Beau looks forward to providing advanced, efficient building systems for successful projects that lead to a sustainable future.
Matthew Ambra, BIM Coordinator
Matthew was born and raised in the SF Bay Area (on the peninsula in particular). He attended the University of California, Riverside and graduated in June of 2014 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering specializing in general mechanical engineering. He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer later that year, and has not stopped since.
He enjoys the design aspect of construction work. Matthew is inspired by the construction process. To see just how many factors contribute to bringing an actual building to fruition. He was thrilled to work for Engineering 350 because it's a young company with great growth potential while working in designing green buildings he feels it is the best direction for the future as a whole.
